Activities

Farragon is ideally located to make the most of the outdoor activities on offer in the area. Situated on the outer edge of Aviemore, it is within a short walk of the Dalfaber Golf and Country Club and the Aviemore Speyside Golf Course.

Skiing

A 30 minute drive from the Cairngorm carpark and the foot of the mountain railway. Also a 45 minute drive from the Lecht Ski Centre. If you don’t own your own equipment, don’t worry as Cairngorm Mountain will be happy to help.

Cycling

Whether you enjoy mountain biking or road cycling, there is a route for everyone. For the serious mountain bikers, Laggan Wolftrax is only a 25 minute drive away whereas the more sedate paths of the Rothiemurchus Forrest are more suitable for families. The area is a road cyclists paradise with mile upon mile of quiet back roads.

Fishing

Almost on the banks of the River Spey, one of the “big four” salmon rivers in Scotland. A number of local Fisheries provide an alternative, more suitable to families and novices.

Golf

Located just a short walk from two golf courses; the Aviemore Spey Valley golf course and Dalfaber Golf and Country Club. Slightly further afield is Kingussie Golf Course (20 minutes) and Royal Dornoch.

Malt Whisky Trail

Many thousands of people come to Speyside each year to follow the world famous Malt Whisky Trail. Taking in seven distilleries in Moray and the Speyside Cooperage, The Malt Whisky Trail explains the colourful history of the industry from the days of illicit distilling in hidden glens to the methods of production we see today.
